Abstract
At present the development and growth of information technology is developing very significantly, making it a great opportunity to convey da'wah messages to the public. One of the media that is in great demand by the public is film. Of course, in conveying a message to the public, media that is effective and efficient is needed so that it can convey the intent or message from a communicator to the communicant without being pushy or offensive. One of the media that has these two characteristics is film media. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. This method is intended to explain in a structured manner the facts and characteristics regarding the message of moral preaching contained in the horror film "KKN in the Penari Village", using semiotic analysis from Roland Barthes by looking for the denotation, connotation, and myths contained in the film. The results of the research on the KKN horror film in Penari Village show that in this horror film there are messages of moral preaching which include messages of moral preaching to Allah SWT, messages of moral preaching to humans and messages of preaching to the environment. The essence of this film is that as a newcomer, you must follow the rules in a new place as much as possible, don't act as you please. If you behave well, you will get good things, and vice versa, if you behave badly, you will definitely get bad things too
