Abstract

This research is motivated by the role of empowerment related to micro, small and medium enterprises at BMT Al Muthi'in Maguwo, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Financing of Islamic Financial Institutions, both in the form of Banks, Savings and Loans Cooperatives and BMTs has increased from time to time. Both in terms of turnover of LKS and the level of financing. Based on data from the Financial Authority Services, most of the financing was channeled to MSMEs. The contribution of MSMEs to the Indonesian economy is that MSMEs are a national priority in accelerating development. MSMEs are a national priority because they can absorb a large number of workers and create many jobs thereby reducing unemployment. This research aims to explain the role of BMT in micro, small and medium enterprises at BMT Al Muthi'in Maguwo, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques with interviews and documentation to obtain data on the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in empowering BMTs. The results of the study are that the role of empowering BMT Al Muthi'in is still not optimal, it is still included in the empowerment stage, which should be the saving stage. The Baitul Maal should also have reached the empowerment stage, but BMT AL Muthi’in is more focused on Baitul Tamwil.
