Abstract

The Special Region of Yogyakarta is the only region with a Regional Regulation that regulates the broadcasting organization. The DIY Regional Regulation No. 13 of 2016 on broadcasting management contains provisions on local content programming. Therefore, every broadcasting institution in the Special Region of Yogyakarta feels a significant impact from this regulation, including TVRI Yogyakarta. This research explains how the creative strategy of one of TVRI Yogyakarta's local content programs, Angkringan, maintains its existence as a local content program. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. To ensure data validity, the researcher used source triangulation. The results of this study show that the creative strategy used by the Angkringan program of TVRI Yogyakarta in maintaining the existence of its local content program is through three ways, namely determining ideas, creative thinking, and brainstorming. In creative thinking, the SKAMPER concept is used to analyze the creative strategy. SKAMPER is a set of seven creative questions used to develop new ideas, including Substitution, Combination, Adaptation, Modification, Putting to other uses, Elimination, and Reverse. In this study, the SKAMPER concept was used to analyze the creative strategy used by the Angkringan program of TVRI Yogyakarta to maintain its existence as a local content program. The SWOT analysis technique was also used to analyze the program.
