Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) cooperative learning model to the motivation and learning outcomes (knowledge)of Biology of XI grade students at MAN 1 Bojonegoro. The method used in this study is a experimental method with a nonequivalent kontrol group design using 2 samples as a kontrol class (conventional learning model/PBL) and experimental class (type TGT cooperative learning model). Determination of the sample in this study using purposive sampling based on the direction of the Biology teacher. Data collection used a questionnaire sheet instrument to collect data on motivation to learn Biology and test questions to retrieve data on Biology learning outcomes. The data obtained were analyzed using the Mann Whitney U Test data analysis technique for motivational data and student learning outcomes. Based on the results of study, that: There is no effect of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) cooperative learning model on the motivation to study biology in XI grade students at MAN 1 Bojonegoro, it is proven by the sig. 0,8902 > α (0.05) then Ha is rejected. There is an effect of the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) type of cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of XI grade students at MAN 1 Bojonegoro, it is proven by sig 0,0002 < α (0.05) then Ho is rejected. So, this study can be conclude that the cooperative learning model type TGT has a significant effect on Biology learning outcomes, but does not have a significant effect on the motivation to study Biology in XI grade students at MAN 1 Bojonegoro.
