Abstract

This research is motivated by the widespread dissemination of information, making it difficult for children to differentiate between positive and negative information, resulting in a lack of understanding of the purpose of child education in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). This study aims to determine: 1) the concept and purpose of child education in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). 2) the concept of educational content for children in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). 3) the concept of child educational methods in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of research being a Literature Review. The method used is educational interpretation (tarbawi interpretation) and case study. The educational interpretation method involves interpreting educational verses by identifying the subject, understanding, and concluding their content. A case study is research aimed at intensive study of a specific social unit, including individuals, groups, institutions, and society. The data collection method is documentation, collecting data from primary sources by examining the content of Tafsir Al-Azhar Volume 6 by Hamka related to child education, and secondary sources that support the research topic on the concept of child education in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). The data analysis technique uses content analysis, describing, interpreting the existing content, and expert opinions on the concept of child education in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation). From the results of this research, the researcher concludes that: 1) the concept and purpose of child education in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation) is to prepare children to become servants of Allah, to attain a happy life in this world, the barzakh (intermediate state), and the hereafter, as well as to strengthen the faith in children. 2) the concept of educational content for children in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation) includes education in faith (belief in Allah, monotheism, the status of Prophet Isa, rewards and the Day of Judgment), education in worship (prayer and almsgiving), and education in morals (patience, honesty, and gratitude). 3) the concept of child educational methods in Q.S Maryam verses 16-40 (study of Hamka's interpretation) includes the method of storytelling, the method of setting examples, and a holistic education approach.
