Abstract

Spiritual experience is a meaning based on belief in religious teachings which will bring up a response in the form of emotional reactions. This study looks at how the experiences of participants as Santri Pengabdian Pondok Pesantren interpret the dynamics of spiritual experiences experienced daily. This study aims to examine the dynamics of the spiritual experience of Santri Pengabdian Pondok Pesantren using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design. Data collection procedures using interviews, observation, documentation and interviews with significant others. Data processing uses the NVivo application which is part of the data collection procedure to increase the objectivity and validity of the research. The results of this study indicate that the dynamics of the participants' spiritual experience have their own uniqueness. The researcher found that the dynamic process of spiritual experience in the community service students consisted of several behaviors that emerged, namely: meditating on the Koran, praying fervently, looking at the universe, writing weights in a diary, reading sholawat, serving the Kiai or Islamic boarding school, not being exposed to danger. by God, met with good people, resigned to all God's destiny, distinguished from others by parents and get support from participants' closest people. Furthermore, in this dynamic process there is something that hinders the dynamic process of spiritual experience in participant I,namely being the son of a Kiai, which has a significant influence on the development of the dynamic process of the participant's spiritual experience. Then, the researcher found a new discovery which according to the researcher was not covered by Underwood and Teresi's theory of spiritual experience, namely the behavior of devoting oneself to the Islamic boarding school in participant II which is a way for participants to feel something that makes joy arise so that it leaves sadness or concern daily. With the hope that this service will have a good impact in the future because it will get blessings from the Kiai and all dzurriyyah Pondok Pesantren. Then, the reason for the two participants serving the pesantren was to follow the preaching of the Kiai or parents.
