Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of availability of electrocardiographs in Indonesian healthcare facilities. The aim is to design, build, and test a portable electrocardiograph based on AD8232 sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT). The study is conducted in three stages: design, construction, and system testing. The system is designed using Blender for overall design and Fritzing for circuit schematics. The construction phase involves both hardware and software development, including creating system blocks and casing. The software includes display on IoT OnOff and PlotJuggler. Testing is carried out to determine accuracy and repeatability precision with parameters PQRST waves. The test results show that the system has accuracy of 66,3%, 0%, and 72,9% for the amplitude of P, QRS, and T waves, respectively. Meanwhile, for the interval of QRS, P-R, Q-T, and R-R waves, the accuracy is 99,4%, 99,4%, 90,2%, and 54,5%, respectively. The repeatability precision values are 97.69%, 98.966%, and 94.31% for the P, QRS, and T waves, and 92.21%, 89.27%, and 83.98% for the QRS, P-R, Q-T, and R-R intervals. Nevertheless, the test results indicate that the system parameters have not fully achieved accurate and consistent measurements as per IEC 60601-2-25 standards. This research is expected to provide a positive contribution to the field of telemedicine and enable measurements in remote areas.
