Abstract

In response to Indonesia's high number of smokers, the government has implemented smoking-free zones. A sans smoke region is a room or region that is pronounced denied for smoking exercises or exercises for creating, selling, publicizing or potentially advancing tobacco items. The author investigates the practicality of Yogyakarta Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2017 regarding Non- Smoking Areas. In leading examination, analysts utilized field research (field research). This exploration is unmistakable scientific in nature. The methodology utilized is a standardizing experimental methodology. The information source utilized is essential information got from interviews with a few understudies learning at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic College. In contrast, this study-related documents, books, and journals provide secondary data. This study employs a qualitative, descriptiveanalytical approach with a focus on legal efficiency and maslahah. The consequences of this study make sense of that the use of the Yogyakarta Territorial Guideline Number 2 of 2017 Concerning Non-Smoking Regions at Faculty of Syaria and Law Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic College, when seen from the maslahah standard as per Asy-Syatibi's view, can be related with the standard "jalbu al-maṣalih wa dar'u al-mafasid." Because, at its core, the goal of a smokefree area is to keep the soul alive and reduce the risks associated with smoking. The regional regulation is seen as less effective for a variety of reasons. The exorbitant interest in smoking which is habit-forming and has turned into a culture makes it challenging for understudies to execute this guideline.
