Abstract

This research complex is about people in Sambutan Permai Ariesco Neighborhoods who are mostly Muslim and should only eat halal food. However, some people in neighborhoods from 21 to 24 are not aware when they buy bread from stores that don’t have halal certification. The researcher wants to study this problem. The first question is about how much people know about the law regarding halal food. The second question is about what factors influence their awareness of this law. The researcher used two methods to collect information : field research and literature review. The researcher obserbed stores around the neighborhoods who are always sell the bread with halal certification and the bread withour halal certification. After that the researcher sent out survey form from google to know how much people in neighborhoods understand about halal certification. The results of the research that researchers get on the understanding of Islamic legal awareness, researchers get the answer that the understanding of Islamic legal awareness in Sambutan Ariesco Housing has a high understanding of Islamic law, providing answers that 90% understand Islamic law regarding halal and haram. Researchers get the answer that the young age factor does not know the existence of a halal certificate on bread. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the legal awareness of the Sambutan Permai Ariesco Housing Society. Therefore, with this, the researcher obtained the results of the education level of S1 with a total of 41 respondents with a percentage of 58.57% knowing the existence of halal certificates, while 26 respondents with a percentage of 37.14% of high school / vocational / equivalent education levels did not know about the existence of halal certificates and for education from the D3 education level with a total of 3 respondents getting a percentage of 4.29% knowing the existence of halal certificates
