Abstract

Online games are very popular in this increasingly modern era. One of the games that is widely played is the online mobile legends game. This game has features to support gameplay, one of which is skins. Skins function to change the appearance of animations to make them more attractive and to add strength when playing. The objects traded in this transaction are not real items but rather in-game animations. There are several ways to obtain skins, one of which is through purchases using the draw and points system, which is different from the conventional buying and selling methods. It is interesting to examine further whether there are elements of uncertainty (gharar) and gambling (maisir) in the skin buying and selling system with the draw and points. In this study, the author will investigate the mechanism and practice of buying and selling skins in the mobile legends game, and also analyze the fiqh muamalah perspective on the skin buying and selling system with draw and points. The research employed a qualitative approach with field research, by taking data directly into the field, It was a descriptive and analytical study that utilized qualitative methods. Data sources consisted of secondary and primary data, and data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the analysis conducted by the research, several ways of obtaining Mobile Legends skins were identified. First, obtaining skins for free through specific events by completing challenges or missions. Second, purchasing skins conventionally, similar to e-commerce transactions, using diamonds. Third, acquiring skins through the draw and point system, which involves collecting 200 points through draws, with each draw granting between 1-5 points until reaching 200 points. According to the principles of fiqh mu'amalah, obtaining skins for free through event participation is permissible as it falls under the concept of akad ju'alah. Regular buying and selling transactions that fulfill the necessary conditions are considered valid, but if one of the conditions is absent, the transaction becomes invalid. However, if the buyer is a minor who has not reached the age of maturity, the transaction is not permissible due to the unmet conditions. Regarding the draw and point system, according to fiqh mu'amalah, the conditions of the akad are not fulfilled, and the system involves speculation or ambiguity in pricing, which constitutes elements of maisir and gharar, both of which are not permissible in Islamic teachings.
