Abstract

The high consumption of ready-to-drink sweet drinks is one of the reasons of the risk of developing Non-Communicable Diseases or PTM in Indonesia. This then became the reason for the government to issue Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 30 of 2013 concerning the Inclusion of Information on Sugar, Salt and Fat Content and Health Messages on Processed Foods and Ready to Eat Foods. This regulation requires businesses selling processed food and ready-to-eat food to include information on the content of sugar, salt and fat in their products. However, the implementation of this policy has not gone well, especially in fast food, as happened in the ready-to-drink sweet drink franchise with the Mixue brand. This business has not included information on sugar, salt and fat content in its products. This type of research is field research, where problems that occur in the field are studied, reviewed and then linked to various literatures. This research is analytical descriptive, which describes the problems that occur with laws and regulations by linking them to legal theories. The approach used in this research is empirical juridical, that is, looking at the implementation of polices implemented in society. The results of the study explain that the application of the Ministry of Health Regulation Number 30 of 2013 concerning the Inclusion of Information on Sugar, Salt, Fat Content and Health Messages on Processed Foods and Ready to Serve Foods as a form of legal protection for consumer has not been implemented optimally, especially in fast food businesses. Many businesses are not aware of this policy, one of which is Mixue. However, Mixue provides a form of responsibility related to this in the form of providing a choice of sugar measurement that consumers can choose when ordering their products.
