Abstract

This type of research is field research, related to the implementation of the Matchmaking Bureau Program "Samawa: Make Me Your Halal" at the Surakarta Ministry of Religion Office. The nature of the research is descriptive/prescriptive analysis, namely explaining/assessing in detail the implementation of the dating agency conducted by the Ministry of Religion of Surakarta. Primary data sources come from 3 committees and 7 participants in the “Samawa: Make Me Halalmu” Program. Secondary data sources come from scientific papers, journals and books related to dating agency research. In collecting data used the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is qualitative analysis with deductive method. The results of this research technically show that the practice of finding a mate and the implementation of the "Samawa: Make Me Halalmu" program intended for the general public is quite innovative and efficient because it was first implemented during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic until now. In practice, the participants were not immediately allowed to choose a partner, but were directed and guided by a companion who had been appointed by the Surakarta Ministry of Religion. In its implementation, this program has succeeded in marrying 12 pairs of participants. According to the maqāṣid syarī'ah analysis on the practice of implementing the “Samawa: Make Me Halalmu” Program, it can be a means of finding a mate because in the implementation process it is able to present everything that has been listed and has been explained in the maqāṣid syarī'ah, especially at the ḍharūriyyāt level in the element of religious protection (ḥifẓ ad-dῑn), protection of offspring (ḥifẓ an-nasl) and protection of reason (ḥifẓ al-'aql). The purpose of implementing the "Samawa: Make Me Halalmu" Program for participants who have found their partners is to actually go to a legal marriage, in which this program directs its participants to marry legally in accordance with religious law and is officially recognized by the state. From the results of this research, it was explained that the implementation of the "Samawa: Make Me Halalmu" Program can be used as an example for several matchmaking agencies in other institutions or agencies.
