Abstract

In Indonesia, political parties play a crucial role in realizing the aspirations of the people and directing the course of change towards national progress. However, reality shows that internal disputes within political parties often arise. Such conflicts, if not handled properly, have the potential to disrupt internal harmony, divide party solidarity, and diminish public trust in the political party itself. The substantial authority held by political parties contributes to internal competition and struggles within them. The United Development Party (Partai Persatuan Pembangunan or PPP) holds a prominent role as one of the political parties in Indonesia. In the context of PPP, struggles to obtain positions and authority within the party are also unavoidable. Hence, the researcher is interested in conducting a study with the title "Resolution of Internal Disputes within Political Parties according to Law Number 2 of 2011 concerning Political Parties: A Case Study of the United Development Party (Partai Persatuan Pembangunan or PPP)." The research methodology used is normative juridical, employing legal research based on secondary and primary data sources using a combination of legal, case, and conceptual approaches. The aim is to gain a profound understanding of the idea of resolving internal disputes within political parties according to Law Number 2 of 2011 concerning political parties, using the PPP as a case study. All data related to internal disputes within the United Development Party (Partai Persatuan Pembangunan or PPP) are qualitatively analyzed through observation, documentation, and literature review analysis. The collected data are then comprehensively analyzed to provide an in-depth overview of the problematic aspects of internal dispute resolution within political parties, particularly in the case of PPP. The research findings indicate that Law Number 2 of 2011 concerning Political Parties plays a crucial role in regulating various aspects related to political parties in Indonesia, with the aim of creating party operations in line with democratic principles. The United Development Party (PPP) has a long history of facing changes and challenges that impact its political role. Internal conflicts within political parties like PPP can stem from differences in perspectives, decision-making, and leadership competition. In the mechanism of resolving internal disputes within political parties, the United Development Party (PPP) has internal mechanisms regulated in its Articles of Association and Bylaws. The dispute resolution mechanism within PPP may involve the Party's Central Leadership Council (Dewan Pimpinan Pusat or DPP), which possesses specific duties and authorities in this context.
