Abstract

The rapid development of non-formal educational institutions with PKBM status using the classic Kuttab curriculum is a new phenomenon in the world of Indonesian education. One of them is Kuttab Al-Fatih which has many branches in almost all provinces in Indonesia. The presence of Kuttab Al-Fatih as an answer for the community in shaping the character and manners of their children under fears of the decline in the morale of students as is often the case. The aim of this research is to analyze the non-formal education curriculum in Kuttab Al-Fatih Yogyakarta. This research is a type of qualitative research using three data collection methods, namely first, the observation method by observing the daily activities of Kuttab Al-Fatih such as the learning process from start to finish at both levels, namely Kuttab Awal and Kuttab Qonuni. Second, the interview method in which the sources were the head of the kuttab, two educators, one education staff, and two students' parents. Third, the documentation method by obtaining data from the vision and mission, Kuttab I Module, Kuttab and Madrasah Module, Administration Module, Nature and Human Teaching Module, 40 Methods for Teaching the Prophet, data on educators, education staff and students. Data analysis techniques from Milles Huberman were carried out from collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and checking data. To test the validity of the data using source triangulation This study shows the results that: 1) Kuttab Al-Fatih defines that Kuttab as a place to study the Koran as well as a place to study Shari'a sciences. In formulating the concept of education, Kuttab Al-Fatih uses various sources such as the Al-Quran, Hadith, classic books, works of contemporary scientists, and siroh nabawiyah. The characteristics of Kuttab's education only use two curricula, namely the faith curriculum and the Al-Quran curriculum. The Kuttab Al-Fatih curriculum projects its curriculum to be able to produce brilliant students at a young age who are able to change civility and activities based on faith so that students are formed according to the graduate profile to be achieved. 2) The curriculum design of Kuttab Al-Fatih Yogyakarta, in terms of the results of research on curriculum documents and the learning process, can be included in the type of design board field design, which is an effort to integrate religious knowledge with general knowledge. This can be proven by the use of the murofaqot method, which provides insert material by linking the learning of Faith and the Koran with general science (integration) such as Natural Sciences, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Indonesian. 3) The Kuttab Al-Fatih curriculum is an improvised curriculum by referring to the non-formal education curriculum and making the Al-Quran and hadith as the basis which was developed by referring to the history of the Prophet Muhammad and the works of Muslim scientists. Based on the results of the analysis, there are relevant and irrelevant curriculum components in terms of the existing Indonesian context, such as educational regulations, national education goals, character problems, character education, and an independent curriculum.
