Abstract

Broken Home can be interpreted as chaos in the household, this phenomenon generally provides an unpleasant experience for the victims, especially in adolescents. Therefore, resilience plays a very important role in assisting adolescent growth, especially in adolescents who experience broken homes. This study aims to review the factors that can influence the resilience of adolescent survivors of broken homes at Bima Bhakti Orphanage and analyze the role of religion or spirituality in the resilience process. In its operationalization, this research applies Resnick, Gwyther and Roberto's resilience theory as an analytical knife. This research applies qualitative methods with descriptive techniques. The data collection techniques were achieved by observation, interviews, and documentation. In the interview stage, interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner. The chosen informants in this study were teenage broken home survivors and Bima Bhakti Orphanage administrators. The flow of data analysis is done by collecting data, reducing or selecting data, presenting data, verifying data and finally drawing conclusions. The results of this study explain that the resilience that occurs in adolescent survivors of broken homes at the Bima Bhakti Orphanage is supported by several factors, including internal and external factors. In addition, religion or spirituality also has a significant influence on the resilience process. In this case, the religious activities undertaken by foster children at the Bima Bhakti Orphanage have a positive impact, this can be illustrated from the transfer of positive activities carried out which can be a driver of achievement for foster children. Therefore, the religious values applied by the Bima Bhakti Orphanage indirectly have an impact on a sense of calm, security, and self-control for foster children.
