Abstract

The development of technology occurs very rapidly over time. Communication media such as movies can be used as a tool in conveying communication messages. Saturday with Father is one type of film that depicts the delivery of family communication patterns through information technology in the form of videos. The study entitled Representation of Family Communication Patterns in the Saturday with Father Film is a study that aims to find out how the representation of family communication patterns in the Saturday with Father film. This study used qualitative descriptive method. The data analysis used was Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The data collection technique used was a documentation study on the scenes in the film Saturday with Father. From the results of the study, researchers found that the film Saturday Bersama Bapak displays a representation of diverse family communication patterns. The film Saturday Bersama Bapak not only shows a representation of positive family communication patterns, but also a negative representation of family communication patterns.
