Abstract

The limitations that people with disabilities have can make them vulnerable to having a low level of self-acceptance. This is because these limitations can lead to a sense of inferiority, lack of confidence, and a tendency to close themselves off. The existence of low self-acceptance can result in the obstruction of the individual's self-development process. The level of self acceptance is influenced by various factors, one of which is social support. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and self-acceptance in Social Welfare Service Providers (PPKS) with disabilities at the DIY Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (BRTPD). This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The subjects in this study were PPKS with disabilities at BRTPD DIY. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a positive relationship between social support and self acceptance. The data collection method in this study used a social support scale and a self acceptance scale. Technical data analysis in this study used product moment analysis techniques from Karl Pearson using the IBM SPSS 29.0 for Windows program. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, a significance value of 0.001 (p <0.05) is obtained. These results indicate that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. This is also supported by the calculation of the calculated r value of 0, 584 which is greater than the r table of 0.361. The calculated r value also shows that the level of relationship between the two variables is at a moderate level. So it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between social support and self acceptance. This means that the greater the social support received, the higher the level of self acceptance.
