Abstract

Today’s poverty is linked to economic issues related to declining income, especially among lowe middle-class people. Sustainability empowerment is one of those efforts to improve people’s economic well-being. Zakat, infaq, wakaf, and shadaqah (ZISWAF) have great potential for economic growth. This, will certainly provide a record for all parties on how to manage and harness its potential to maximum. Amil Zakat Khairul Ummah development is based on its potential. The society’s development is taking advantage of the resources of both its human resource and its natural resources. It certainly runs in line with empowering programs that then improve the economy and welfare of the assisted community. The study is intended to describe the economic empowerment strategy of Amil Zakat Institution Khairul Ummah, and to describe and analyse the impact of economic empowerment on the community of Air Molek village, Pasir Penyu sub-district, Indragiri Hulu district. The data collection technique by interactive observations, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained is a valid and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this study are the economic empowerment strategy of the Amil Zakat Khairul Ummah institution with various aspects, include planning for empowerment programs, improving management, reutilization of ZISWAF potential, actuating by building insfrastructure to support facilities for the fostered community, utilizing vacant land as a place for cultivation empowerment, and conducting routine programs, organizing by forming the management structure of the amil zakat institution, controlling supervises the program that is being carried out and the annual report. The economic empowerment of the Khairul Ummah Amil Zakat institution as one of the empowerment strategies has had an impact on the people of Air Molek village. The impact felt by the people of Air Molek village is analyzed using aspects of the environment, society, welfare, and economy, all of which are included in the sustainable compass. From all these aspects, we will analyze the impact of the economic empowerment program on improving the welfare, health, education, and social and religious aspects felt by the community.
