Abstract

Rezna Saputri, Improving Community Economy through Mosque-Based People's Market in Jogokariyan. Thesis, Yogyakarta: Islamic Community Development 2023. The economic improvement carried out through this people's market is one of the efforts made by the mosque to improve the community's economy which has decreased due to the pandemic. The efforts made by the mosque in improving the community's economy by holding a mosque-based people's market program in Jogokariyan with the help and support of the mosque. This mosquebased people's market aims to provide opportunities for MSME traders to be able to sell again and to enliven the congregation at the Jogokariyan Mosque. In this thesis, researchers will examine the efforts made by the Jogokariyan Mosque in improving the community's economy and the results obtained from efforts to improve the community's economy through a mosque-based people's market in Jogokariyan. The purpose of this research is to describe the efforts made and the results obtained by the Jogokariyan Mosque in improving the community's economy through the people's market. This research uses qualitative research methods and uses a sociological research approach and the strategy used in this research is descriptive qualitative. In this study researchers describe events based on the results of data collected in accordance with reality, the results of the data obtained through observation interviews, and documentation. The efforts made by the Jogokarian Mosque in improving the community's economy with the people's market program is the focus of the research. The results of this study indicate that through several efforts made by the mosque in improving the community's economy through the mosque-based people's market in Jogokariyan, it is able to provide new jobs for the community so that it can help the community's economy. The congregation praying at the Jogokariyan mosque increased and also the income earned also returned to normal.
