Abstract

This qualitative phenomenological study examines the construction of identity among the supporters of Curva Nord Famiglia football team in Bantul Regency. Conducted over two months at their gathering place, the research methodology involved in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal the group's formation rooted in loyalty to the football team, shared values, and social engagement. The identity construction process involves internalizing values, externalizing through distinct attributes, and objectifying norms within the group's identity. This research provides insight into how Curva Nord Famiglia supporters forge their collective identity through social interactions and shared understanding of social realities. Highlighting the dynamics of football supporter identity construction, the study emphasizes the significance of social interaction in shaping the identity of supporter groups within the local community.
