Abstract

The Tahfidzul Qur'an program at MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran has an important role in shaping students' character and understanding of the Islamic religion. However, to improve program quality, an in-depth understanding of emerging constraints is needed, including teaching effectiveness, student motivation, resources, and teaching methods. Therefore, this research aims to identify strategies for improving the quality of the Tahfidzul Qur'an program at MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran, which is expected to provide positive benefits for students' academic and spiritual development and contribute to Islamic education at this school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with research subjects based on the 3M criteria, knowing, understanding and experiencing, including the head of MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran, the head of the tahifdzul qur'an program and several tahfid teachers who also implement the tahfidzul qur'an program. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Then the data is analyzed using the Interactive Analysis model which includes transcript, coding, grouping, comparing and contrasting. Meanwhile, for data validity, source triangulation and technical triangulation are used. This research aims to find out and understand the strategy for improving the quality of the MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran tahfidzul Qur'an program as well as the results of improving the quality of the tahfidz program. Additional insight and data regarding quality improvement strategies are the benefits of this research. From the results of this research, researchers found that the MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran tahfidz program was established to continue in the footsteps of KH. Abdurrahman Syamsuri (Yi Man) who produced many memorizers of the Koran. The strategy carried out by MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran in improving the quality of the tahfidz program is by determining the time for implementing the tahfidz program, methods and media for learning the tahfidz program, the tahfidz learning process, carrying out tahfidz exams, increasing human resources (teachers), and extracurricular activities. As for the results achieved by MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran in carrying out this program, approximately 82% -92% of students graduating from MI Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem Paciran have memorized juz 30 and in non-academic fields, especially in student morals, there has also been an increase.
