Abstract

Learning the Koran for children is one of the supports for memorizing the Koran which needs to be continuously developed systematically. Reading the Koran has rules and regulations so you have to understand and pay attention to reading the tajwid. Introducing the Koran to children requires the right strategy for their age who cannot be separated from the world of play, so Ummi's method was created as an easy, fun and heart-touching learning and memorization of the Koran which will encourage students not to get bored easily and learn with a feeling of joy. This qualitative research was conducted to (1) determine the implementation of the Ummi method in improving children's memorization of the Koran in early childhood, (2) to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the Ummi method in improving children's memorization of the Koran, and (3) to find out the factors that support and hinder the method. Ummi in increasing memorization of the Koran in early childhood. The results of this research show that (1) Budi Mulia Al Bayaan Kindergarten makes the Al-Quran program a superior program, there are two superior programs. The first is the muroja'ah class, which goes through several stages from the opening, memorizing the letter, namely juz 30 from surah an-naba downwards, memorizing daily prayers, memorizing hadith, and closing. The second is the Ummi method program, where the Ummi method is characterized by 7 learning stages that have been implemented by educators, namely opening, apperception, concept introduction/understanding, concept understanding, skills training, evaluation and closing. (2) The advantages of the Ummi Method: quality methods, quality teachers, and a quality marching system. And Ummi's weaknesses: long time, monotonous learning, and large costs. (3) Supporting factors in learning include internal factors in the form of children's enthusiasm, children's interests and children's abilities. External factors can be seen from facilities, collaboration with student parents, the environment and teachers. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are also seen from internal and external factors.
