Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka has been implemented in Indonesia since 2022. IPAS subjects are new subjects in the Independent Curriculum. This research aims to determine the readiness of teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum in the subjects of Natural Sciences and Social Studies (IPAS) in the District of Karanggeneng and identify the obstacles faced by teachers in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in IPAS subjects in the District of Karanggeneng. This study employs a field research approach, utilizing qualitative research methods. data collected include the readiness of teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum in IPAS subjects in the Karanggeneng district. The sample consists of 11 schools selected using the Slovin formula from a total of 37 elementary schools in the Karanggeneng district. The research instruments used include questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis techniques involve two steps: first, analyzing questionnaire data measured using the Guttman Scale, and second, analyzing interview data using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. The results of this research are as follows. First: In terms of IPAS lesson planning, five schools are ready, while six schools are not ready. In terms of IPAS lesson implementation, all eleven schools are ready, despite facing various challenges. Regarding IPAS lesson assessment, eight schools are ready, and three schools are not ready. Second: The obstacles faced by teachers in the Karanggeneng district in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum are related to lesson planning.
