Abstract

This study aims to determine the forms of juvenile delinquency in East Jempong, Karang Pule Sub-district, Mataram City, the factors that contribute to juvenile delinquency in East Jempong, Karang Pule Sub-district, Mataram City, and the role of religious figures in instilling character as an effort to tackle juvenile delinquency in East Jempong, Karang Pule, Mataram. The role of religious figures in instilling character as an effort to overcome juvenile delinquency in East Jempong, Karang Pule District, Mataram. Islamic religious education has the mission of forming akhlakul karimah, emphasizing the formation of conscience, instilling and developing clear and definite divine qualities. Among the noble morals that are often mentioned in the Qur'an are reflected in the apostolic qualities that exist in the person of the Prophet Muhammad, such as the qualities of siddiq, amanah, tabligh and fathanah. Therefore, cultivating character and understanding religion is very important for teenagers who are just growing up. Religious education can color the psyche of teenagers, because adolescence is a vulnerable period, a period where they are still looking for their identity, when it is not based on religion they will fall into things. - negative thing, Islamic religious education is very important in one's life and Islamic religious education will form a personality with good morals. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources for this study were Religious Figures, Community Leaders, and Adolescents. Data collection techniques included semi-structured observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The researchers ensured data validity through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research findings indicate that (1) the forms of juvenile delinquency in East Jempong include amorally based delinquency and involving legal violations. (2) Factors influencing juvenile delinquency in East Jempong encompass internal factors such as age, weak self-defence mechanisms, and a lack of foundational faith in adolescents. In contrast, external factors include family and environmental influences. (3) The role of Religious Figures in instilling character to address juvenile delinquency in East Jempong involves preventive efforts, including religious study and learning, involving adolescents in various social and religious activities, and providing sound advice.
