Abstract

This research is motivated by the many new groups or organizations that have emerged in the name of religion, causing the emergence of new ideologies and the growth of understanding of radicalism, so that several elements of these groups or organizations have succeeded in entering several areas or areas of society and are able to take over and dominate several places of worship. One of the factors that causes this to occur is due to different perspectives in understanding the meaning of da'wah or understanding religious knowledge. Therefore, the religious moderation program which is currently being developed by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia and has also been socialized, especially to educational institutions, must and needs to be supported, because it is a solution to increasing religious extremism. This research aims to 1) Find out the program carried out to internalize the values of religious moderation at SMAN 1 Bambanglipuro, SMA 1 Bokpri, MAN 2 Yogyakarta schools. 2) Describe the implementation of religious moderation values at SMAN 1 Bambanglipuro, SMA 1 Bokpri, MAN 2 Yogyakarta. 3) Knowing the implications of instilling the values of religious moderation on the attitudes, thought patterns and behavior of students at SMAN 1 Bambanglipuro, SMA 1 Bokpri, MAN 2 Yogyakarta. This research method uses qualitative (field research), referring to the qualitative descriptive approach and comparative studies. The source data used in this research are the results of interviews sourced from school principals, Deputy Head of Curriculum, Religion Teachers, and students at SMAN 1 Bambamglipuro, MAN 2 Yogyakarta, and SMA Bopkri 1 Yogyakarta. The selection of research subjects and objects was carried out using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. This research includes observations of phenomena that appear in the activities of internalizing the values of religious moderation in educational institutions, namely at SMAN 1 Bambanglipuro, SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta, MAN 2 Yogyakarta. The steps taken in this data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research are 1) The values applied at SMAN 1 Bambanglipuro, SMA BOPKRI 1 Yogyakarta, MAN 2 Yogyakarta to support the religious moderation program are the value of honesty, the value of discipline, the value of politeness, the value of responsibility, the value of justice, the value of difference, the value of deliberation, the value of love for the country, the value of patience, the value of tolerance, the value of cooperation, the value of forgiveness, the value of diversity, the value of respect and appreciation. 2) implementation carried out in internalizing the values of religious moderation through 3 ways, namely intracurricular activities, extracurricular activities and school culture. 3) the results of internalizing the values of religious moderation have implications for improving thought patterns, attitudes and behavior for students.
