Abstract

Any religion in this world carries a mission of peace, harmony of life, for all cratures, both between humans, nature, and with God. The terminology in Islami is rahmatan lil’alamin (mercy for all nature). However, in fact, on a historical, not all religious missions are articulate. There are still many diversity practices that are far from the mission of religion itself. Extremism, fundamentalism and exclusivism which are currently affecting many junior high school teenagers are one of the causes. Islamic religious education (PAI) in this case takes an important role in mainstreaming religious moderation in schools. This research aims to: 1) Find out what values of religious moderation are implemented through PAI learning in building an attitude of tolerance at LTI IGM Palembang Middle School. 2) Describe the implementation of religious moderation values through PAI learning in bilding attitudes of tolerance at LTI IGM Palembang Middle School. 3) Analyzing the Implications of religious moderation values through PAI learning in building an attitude of tolerance at LTI IGM Palemban Middle School. This research produces three conclusions, namely: First, the values of religious moderation ehich are implemented through PAI learning in building an attitude of tolerance at LTI IGM Palembang Middle School, namely the values of national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, acceptance of traditions. Second, the implementation of religious moderation values through PAI learning in building attitude of tolerance at LTI IGM Palembang Middle School can be seen at the learning implementation stage including moral knowing, moral modeling, moral feeling and loving strategies, preliminary activities, core activities, closing activities, religious activities, extracurricular activities, habituation activities. Third, the implications of the values of religious moderation through PAI learning in building students’ attitudes of tolerance at LTI IGM Palembang Middle School, namely, atudents have an attitude of social care, high national spirit, love of the homeland, unity, respect for diffrences, equality, and do not disturb activities. Worshiping other religions, being honest and recognizing other people’s rights, lovinf peace, not making fun of friends of different religions, avoiding acts of violence, accepting diffrences in traditions and culture in Indonesia, accepting diffrences in traditions at school, love of culture.
