Abstract

The background to the problem of this research is the discovery of a decline in student character, this incident occurred due to the increasingly complex development factors of the times and increasingly rapid technological advances. Therefore, in order to create a good national character and be able to create a competitive generation, the government is strengthening character education through the character education strengthening program (PPK). The PPK program was implemented well at Al-Bukhari Vocational School. Therefore, researchers want to know in detail what the concept of PPK is, how PPK is implemented, and the implications of PPK implemented at Al-Bukhari Vocational School. The research method is qualitative with the type of field research (Field Research). Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. Checking the validity of the data uses triangulation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that: (1) the concept of the character education strengthening program (PPK) at Al-Bukhari Vocational School uses the five main values contained in PPK, namely religious, national, independent, mutual cooperation and integrity character values. (2) Implementation of the character education strengthening program (PPK) at Al-Bukhari Vocational School using five components, namely integrating into learning, into extracurricular activities, into habituation activities, into exemplary activities and into school regulations. (3) The implications of the character education strengthening program (PPK) can be seen from two implications, namely being able to improve students' moral and ethical character and being able to improve students' 4C competencies (Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Collaboration and Communication).
