Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine: (1) Development of number board media in introducing number symbols to children aged 4-5 years (2) Feasibility of number board media as a medium for introducing number symbols to children aged 4-5 years (3) Effectiveness of number media board as a learning medium for recognizing number symbols for children aged 4-5 years. There is still a lack of awareness among parents and the community regarding the content of learning at PAUD institutions, placing demands on the abilities of calistung children as early as possible. This perception when looking at PAUD age means being considered a child who is intelligent and can count, this is a special demand for PAUD teachers to provide extra learning about numeracy. Based on the phenomenon above, it can eliminate a child's golden age. Therefore, it is best for teachers and parents to provide media that can introduce number symbols. So the number board media was introduced as an effort to make it easier to convey material in introducing number symbols. Number board media is made as attractive as possible so that children are enthusiastic about learning and can be used by educators in the learning process. This research method uses R&D research with the ADDIE development model. The respondents in this study were group A children at RA Azzahra East Lampung. This research was carried out on 1-4 August 2023. The sample for this research was group A students at RA Azzahra East Lampung, totaling 17 respondents. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with Likert scale measurements. Product validation tests use feasibility tests and effectiveness tests. Feasibility test products use the NP search formula. Meanwhile, the product effectiveness test uses a paired sample t test with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The research results show that the Number Board media was developed using the ADDIE design, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The media number board was said to be worthy of the assessment of media experts by getting a score of 95.8%, the material expert's assessment got a score of 90% and the teacher's response got a score of 92.8%. The media is said to be effective, shown by the t test using SPSS 25 Paired Sample t test model and getting a result of 0.00, which is less than 0.05, which means there is a difference between after and before the implementation of the media with an average of 57%. The conclusion is that the media is effective in introducing number symbols in children aged 4-5 years.
