Abstract

Self-confidence has an important role in human life, influencing social interaction and personal achievement. Despite its complex build, the Qur'an and the stories of the Prophet's Companions emerged as potential sources of inspiration. This study aims to identify Qur'anic verses and strategies in the story of the Companions of the Prophet that reflect a confident character, which is now crucial in facing the dynamics of contemporary society. KPAI data shows an increase in bullying cases, which can damage children's mental and physical health. Therefore, the Qur'an and the story of the Companions of the Prophet are expected to be therapeutic to restore the confident character of children affected by bullying. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach, field studies, and maudhu'i interpretation. The focus is on understanding the subjective experience of individuals regarding confident characters influenced by the Qur'an and the story of the Companions of the Prophet. The research location is in the Kalam Sambisari Study, Purwomartani, Kalasan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, carried out in July-September 2023. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data condensation, data presentation and data verification. The results of this study are about strategies to grow confident character through the Qur'an and the story of the Prophet's companions. This research shows that the research subjects read the Qur'an by understanding its contents, imitating the companions of the Prophet, following Islamic studies, and practicing Islamic teachings. The study also mentions several verses of the Qur'an and the stories of the Prophet's companions that are relevant to the confident character. The study claims that the Qur'an and the stories of the Prophet's companions helped the research subjects develop a confident character that had a positive impact on various aspects of life.
