Abstract

This research is about the concept of social inclusion in public libraries based on IFLA's formulation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Pierre Bourdieu's theory of Social Practice. This study aims to determine the concept of social inclusion and the role of habitus or actors, capital, domains in the concept of social inclusion at the DIY DPAD Library Service Center. This research uses qualitative methods. Retrieval of informants using the snowball technique. Data collection techniques through frank observation, semistructured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Furthermore, the data validity test is divided into 4, namely 1) credibility testing through triangulation of sources, techniques, and member checks, 2) transferability tests, 3) dependability tests, and 4) confirmability tests. The results of this study, (1) the concept of social inclusion at the DPAD DIY Library Service Center based on the IFLA formulation in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is divided into 3 aspects, namely a) community empowerment activities: access to new skills training sites, information and research for students, information and ICT for women seeking employment, information and workshops, skills training for development, b) the right to comprehensive library services: access to support early literacy and lifelong learning, free inclusive spaces, safe and welcoming meeting rooms, health programs and services, public libraries and special libraries, welcoming and inclusive public spaces, ICTs such as the internet, neutral and welcoming spaces for learning, equitable access to information, and inclusive spaces for organization, and c) accessibility of library information: access to information to support the fight against poverty, public access to health, documentary access, and public access to information. (2) the role of habitus or actors in the DPAD DIY Library Service Center, namely as library managers, providing library services, developing library facilities, building cooperation with the community, providing support from facilitators, and the role of the Head of the DIY DPAD Yanpus Hall. The roles of capital are: social capital, economic capital, cultural capital, and symbolic capital. The role of the domain is: the existence of activities and services to obtain information.
