Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the incidence of technostress experienced by young librarians in facing developments in information technology, to determine the impact of technostress on young librarians in facing developments in information technology and to find out strategies for overcoming technostress experienced by young librarians in facing developments in information technology in libraries. The method used in this research is qualitative, narrative in nature. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity tests in this research are divided into four, namely, credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability tests. Then the data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this research are that young librarians experience technostress in five dimensions, namely, techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty. The impacts felt by young librarians in each dimension are, techno-overload experiences internal (positive and negative) and external (negative) impacts, techno-invasion experiences internal (positive and negative) and external (positive and negative) impacts, techno-complexity experiencing internal (negative) and external (negative) impacts, then techno-insecurity and techno-uncertainty only experience internal (negative) impacts. Furthermore, to overcome technostress, young librarians use several methods, such as in the techno-overload dimension, librarians try to divide their time between studying and working and also take part in training, techno-invasion, several young librarians participate in trials of new technology, techno-complexity librarians carry out discussions with colleagues. working and watching tutorials on YouTube, then on techno-insecurity and techno-uncertainty young librarians together held discussions and took part in training held by the library.
