Abstract

The periodization of the study of Ikhtirāj Al-Muḥaddīṡ has always existed in every period of time, which is an indicator of the great concern of hadith scholars in maintaining the authenticity of hadith. These efforts generally confirm a hadith in its primary book that is used as an argument or source of reference in a particular book. Maintaining the authenticity of the hadith aims to avoid errors or partial understanding. This is relevant to the issues that are always developing in society with differences in fiqh-muamalah, so it is the author's interest to find out the development of the study of Ikhtirāj Al-Muḥaddīṡ with a fiqh character, namely the Book of Naṣbu Ar-Rāyah by Abdullah bin Yūsuf Al-Zaila'ī and Al-Badru Al-Munīr by 'Umar bin 'Alī bin Aḥmad Al-Anṣārī. There are three points of the author's analysis, namely (1) the existence of the book of takhrīj and the background of the writing of Naṣbu Ar-Rāyah and Al-Badru Al-Munīr; (2) the characteristics of hadith takhrīj in the two books; (3) the comparison and implications of the characteristics in the presentation of hadith takhrīj results in the two books. Departing from the formulation of the problem, this research uses qualitative research with data sources from the library (library research), and uses content analysis with elements of the book's epistemology and compares them. The results of this research include: (1) The study of Ikhtirāj Al-Muḥaddīṡ has always existed from time to time, it has become one of the momentum and efforts of hadith scholars to maintain the authenticity of hadith. Some patterns of attention to the study of Ikhtirāj Al-Muḥaddīṡ are books that discuss tawhid, ulumul and interpretation of the Koran, Sufism morals, language and literature, usul fiqh, and fiqh. The books used as the object of research are Naṣbu Ar-Rāyah and Al-Badru Al-Munīr, both of which are books that study Ikhtirāj Al-Muḥaddīṡ with a fiqh character. (2) The epistemological characteristics of the books of the two research objects have similarities and some notes of difference, although the two authors of these works lived at the same time and had the same vision. (3) In general, the characteristics of the two books used as research objects have similarities and some differences, including in the selection of the quantity of reference sources and the consistency of wise attitudes in mentioning the basic sources of the views of other groups.
