Abstract

The youth in the development of Bendhung Lepen tourism in Mrican Village tend to be uninvolved, despite the availability of potential and assets such as natural, social, economic, and physical resources. This research aims to explain the involvement of youth roles and describe the challenges faced by youth in the development of Bendhung Lepen tourism. The method employed to uncover empirical facts in this study uses qualitative research methods, employing a case study approach that seeks to elucidate youth solidarity in urban tourism development. The research findings indicate that youth are actively involved in central roles such as parking attendants, nature schools, and organizing committees. However, despite their active involvement in these central roles, they still face crucial challenges, such as a lack of human resources, limited land availability, and suboptimal funding management. This research has implications for urban tourism development mapping, but its implementation still relies on top-down approaches, leading to uncooperative participation (pseudo-participation) and limitations in managing assets and social potential.
