Abstract

Economic growth is a process of continuous change in a country's economy towards a better state over a specific period. In supporting economic growth, the tourism sector plays a strategic role as part of the creative economy sector with high potential contributions. This research aims to examine the influence of the tourism sector, specifically the number of tourist visits, the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of the tourism sector, and the Gini coefficient on the level of economic growth in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The data used are panel data from 2011 to 2022 processed using the panel data regression method with the assistance of Eviews 9 software. The research results indicate that the number of tourist visits has a significantly positive influence, PAD of the tourism sector has a significantly positive impact, and the Gini coefficient has no significant effect on the level of economic growth in the Special Region of Yogyakarta from 2011 to 2022.
