Abstract

Mental illness stigma is something that is quite important to pay attention to. This is a form of individual discrimination against people with mental disorders who should require attention and support. This research aims to determine the relationship between mental health literacy and Mental Illness Stigma among late adolescent internet users. The method used was quantitative correlational with a total of 116 participants consisting of 43 men and 73 women, late teenage internet users. The research sample was obtained by incidental sampling. The measuring instruments in this research are the Multicomponent Mental Health Literacy Measure (MMHLM) scale and the Peer Mental Illness Stigmatization Scale (PMISS). This research uses a correlation test with the help of the SPSS application with the results of this research showing that there is a positive relationship between mental health literacy and Mental Illness Stigma in late adolescent internet users with a significance value of 0.421 (p = <0.05This research reveals that the effective contribution of mental health literacy is 12.7% on mental illness stigma. This shows the importance of mental health literacy in order to minimize mental illness stigma.
