Abstract

This research is motivated by the needs of students with disabilities in improving learning outcomes on traditional musical instrument material. In the 2013 KI and KD Curriculum, learning traditional musical instruments is found in class VI SDLB. The need for learning media to help students learn traditional musical instruments must be pursued by teachers. Media development must be adjusted to students' needs so that learning outcomes can be conveyed optimally. This research aims to develop an Android-based "Indonesian Traditional Musical Instruments" application to improve student learning outcomes as a medium to make it easier to learn traditional musical instrument material. This research uses a R&D approach combining sequential or mixed models with the Hannafin & Peck model. This model has three steps or three phases in development. 1) needs analysis, 2) development design, and 3) implementation. Data collection techniques include interviews and questionnaires. The research subjects were 1 class teacher, 10 deaf students, 4 men and 6 women, one media expert, and one material expert. Qualitative data sources were obtained from interviews with class teachers and 3 deaf students. The quantitative data source was obtained from an experimental class questionnaire, 1 media expert, and 1 material expert. Data obtained from interviews and questionnaires were then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. This research is based on Android with PowerPoint as a medium for creating content which is converted into HTML5 using iSpring 9 to be read by Google, then converted into an application using Website 2 APK Build. From the results of data analysis, an average media validation score of 71 was obtained with the criteria "very good". The average score of material experts is 44 with "good" criteria. The results of the analysis show a significance value of 0.000, which means the significance value is <0.05, so H0 can be rejected. By using α = 0.05 it can be concluded that the application is "effective" and "feasible". For the F test using SPSS for Windows 22, the sig value is obtained. = 0.003 or sig value. < 0.05, then H0 is rejected, so using α = 0.05 which means that the application has an effect. For the respondent test, the average score for the student response questionnaire obtained was 67.6 with the criteria "good". Based on the results of calculations from media validation, material, results analysis, normality test, F test, and respondent test, the Android-based "Indonesian Traditional Musical Instruments" application is said to be feasible and effective for improving student learning outcomes in thematic subjects.
