Abstract

This study aims to first, identify the influence of full-day school and boarding school on the emotional intelligence of the Seventh-Grade students. Second, it aims to identify the influence of full-day school and boarding school on the learning outcomes of Islamic religious education for the seventh-grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta in the academic year 2022/2023. Third, it aims to identify the influence of full-day school and boarding school on emotional intelligence and learning outcomes of Islamic religious education in the seventh-grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2022/2023. This study is expected to contribute to the improvement of full-day school, boarding school, emotional intelligence, learning outcomes, and learning activities of Islamic religious education at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative approach with ex post facto design (causal-comparative). The population was all seventh-grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2022/2023, namely 180 students. This study involved 32 school students and 32 boarding school students as samples selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and conducting tests. The instrument used for data collection was previously tested for validity and reliability. The prerequisite tests used were normality and homogeneity tests. Data were analyzed using hypothesis testing with independent sample t-tests and mann-whitney tests. The results of the study showed that: First, the full day school and boarding school influenced the emotional intelligence in the Seventh-Grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok in the academic year 2022/2023 with a p-value of 0.023 < 0.05, thus, Ha is accepted and Ho rejected. Second, boarding schools influenced emotional intelligence in the seventh-grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok in the academic year 2022/2023 with a p-value of .0047 < 0.05, thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Third, full day school influenced the learning outcomes of Islamic religious education in the Seventh-Grade students at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta in the academic year 2022/2023 with a p-value of .001 < 0.05, thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Fourth, boarding schools influenced the learning outcomes of Islamic religious education in the seventh-grade at Junior High School Diponegoro, Depok, Yogyakarta in the academic year 2022/2023 with a p-value of .004 < 0.05. thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.
