Abstract

The Angkap marriage agreement in the Gayo tribe is a traditional marriage carried out by the people in the Gayo tribe. This marriage tradition is spread throughout the regions in the Gayo tribe such as Bener Meriah, Central Aceh and Gayo Lues. Men who marry with the status of angkap Marriage usually come from families that are classified as indigent, because of the inability of their parents to then their sons must be married concurrently because in this marriage the male party is not much Spending money like weddings in general, this marriage is carried out with agreements, terms, and conditions that have been applied in the custom. The focus of this study is to find out how traditional and religious leaders think about the agreement contained in the Angkap marriage. In the discussion of this thesis using field research methods (field research) conducted with in-depth interviews with the figures concerned and documentation. The theory used in this study is the theory of maslahah mursalah as an analysis knife. The result of this study is that Indigenous and Religious Leaders in responding to the agreement in marriage is not allowed, but according to Religious Leaders if the agreement has the potential to cause harm to the man such as neglecting his obligations to both parents, then this marriage is not recommended.
