Abstract

Yogyakarta is an area that has a fairly high crime rate, one of the crimes that often occurs ia a street crime (klitih). Klitih itself does not have a definition in statutory regislations, because klitih is closer to social term than a legal term. The punishment will be applied according to the criminal offense that accompanies the crime. This Klitih actions often results in casualties, ranging from minor injuries, serious injuries, to death. Onfortunately, the majority of klitih perpetrators are minors with an age range 16-19 years old, where the minors are still in school, therefore the author is interested in conducting research on children who are perpetrators of street crimes (klitih) by reviewing the causes of children as perpetrators of street crime (klitih) in Yogyakarta and legal attempts made to prevent children from becoming involved in street crime (klitih) in Yogyakarta. This type research is field research with an empirical judicial approach and library research. Meanwhile, the data analysis method used is descriptive analytical. In the data collection method the author used the interview method and reviewed documents and literature related to street crime (klitih). The Results of the research show that the factors behind minors carrying out acts of violence consist of psychological, social and legal factors. In terms of psychological factors, underage children tend to receive less attention from both parents so they fall into certain groups that have a negative influence, one of which is klitih, then an invitations from friends and mistakes in implementing a sense of solidarity are a number of social factors that results in minors carry out klitih acts. Legal factors are also influence, including minors, most of whom do not yet know the legal consquenses of these acts of violence.
