Abstract

Research on the policy of the use of library automation system is intended to describe the policy of the Library and Documentation Center of Languages Yogyakarta in using the software Senayan Library Management System as a library automation system in fulfilling the needs of the library. The object of this research is the policy of the library automation system, while the subjects of this study is the Library and Documentation Center of Languages in Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative methods. Technique data collecting by interview, observation and documentation. Results from analysis of data from this study is that the Senayan Library Management System has to accommodate all the needs of libraries in the Library and Documentation Center of Languages in Yogyakarta, the needs of the Library and Documentation Center of Yogyakarta Language related automation are the catalog management, circullation management, OPAC, and barcode scanning and reporting. The analysis technique used in this study is based on the theory of Miles and Huberman namely data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Determination of parameters based on the library needs of Saleh's statement that the automation system should meet 70% of the needs of the library. It can be concluded that the use senayan policies related to meet the needs of the library are correct.
