Abstract

Expert system is a system which adopts sciences to the computer in order that the computer can solve the problem that it's usually done by experts. Expert system is made based on sciences and experiences which are gained by experts in their field. Besides, expert system of vetenary it is also made based on sciences and experiences of veterinarians. Expert system that diagnoses the health hindrance of cattle has purpose to help the user to get early diagnosis about diseases that infected cattles or the other health hindrance that are probably suffered by cattle. It is to anticipate before the user comes to the veterinarian and the expert or the probability that they can't come to give treatments. This expert system built based on “desktop" by using Visual Basic 6.0 software and Microsoft Access for the database. It also uses the Forward Chaining inference machine and Depth First Search in technical searching. The result of expert system can diagnose the diseases or health hindrance of cattle and also provide thetreatment and prevention. It is also completed with Certainty Factor based on the symptoms that have been chosen by the user. Certainty factor can help the user to make a decision for the next action of the treatment for the cattle.
