Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a government initiative in developing character education in Indonesia. One of its implementations is by organizing learning innovations, namely the project of strengthening the Pancasila student profile in PAI learning at the elementary school level. PAI learning at the elementary school level (SD) has an important role in shaping the character of students as the next generation of the nation who are noble and based on Pancasila values. This research is to describe and analyze the implementation of the independent curriculum and the project of strengthening the student profile of Pancasila in PAI learning at SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. This research seeks to describe the events or phenomena that occur in SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang, about how the implementation of the independent curriculum and the project of strengthening the Pancasila student profile in PAI learning at SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang, starting from the implementation stage, existing programs, challenges and obstacles, as well as the results and impact of the implementation of P5 on PAI learning. This study used three data collection techniques, namely observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data was analyzed using data condensation, data presentation, conclusion and verification. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the independent curriculum in SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang has been accepted even though it is still in adjustment, but its implementation has been able to run well through several stages including planning, implementation, and assessment. The P5 program implemented in SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang is local wisdom, sustainable lifestyle, entrepreneurship, and build the soul and body. While the P5 program in PAI learning at SD Negeri Bumiayu Magelang includes six dimensions including; 1) faith, fear of God, and noble character, 2) independence, 3) mutual cooperation, 4) critical reasoning, 5) creativity, and 6) global diversity. Although this school is located in a village where there are not so many students, it still tries to be able to implement an independent curriculum, this is done so that students still receive good learning and are not left behind by the times.
