Abstract

Educated unemployment in Indonesia is currently a serious concern because of the gap between job seekers and job opportunities. There are many ways used by the government to reduce the unemployment rate. One of them is through entrepreneurship education carried out in various educational institutions. As is the case at the Riyadlul 'Ulum Wadda'wah Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya City, which has long introduced entrepreneurship to its students by providing opportunities for them to participate in entrepreneurial activities starting from mapping potential and needs, implementation, to developing business units. This effort is also supported by the West Java Provincial government through the OPOP program in the form of mentoring, training and funding. The aim of this research is to describe the efforts made by the Riyadlul Ulum Wadda'wah Islamic boarding school to foster entrepreneurship in students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The theories used in this research are Bygrave's entrepreneurial process theory, enabling, and Bloom's taxonomy theory. Collecting data by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation and data analysis through triangulation. The research results show seven processes that are followed in an effort to foster student entrepreneurship through the OPOP program, namely mapping potential and needs, assistance with business preparation, training, capital, business implementation, innovation and business development. The results obtained by students and alumni from the OPOP program include having knowledge starting from aspects of potential mapping, business preparation, business implementation (cognitive). Then the students also have an attitude of respecting time and cooperation (affective) and students have skills ranging from selecting raw materials, production, to aspects of product sales (psychomotor). This empowerment program is considered successful because many alumni have applied their entrepreneurial skills after graduating.
