Abstract

Poverty in Indonesia has become a national problem and the government is trying to overcome this problem through development programs and assistance to its population. However, these programs are not fully effective in overcoming poverty in Indonesia because there are fundamental weaknesses in dealing with poverty problems that only require capital or simple assistance, This study aims to analyze the effect of unemployment rate, economic growth and regional minimum wage of North Sumatra before and after covid 19, This type of research is Quantitative, using Secondary data, The type of data is Panel data, namely a combination of time series and cross section for the period 2017-2022 Kab/City of North Sumatra, The data source is collected from the Central Bureau of Statistics. Research Results Unemployment Variables have no significant effect at the 5% alpha level on Poverty, Economic Growth has a negative and significant effect at the 5% alpha level on Poverty, Regional Minimm Wages have a negative and significant effect at the 5% alpha level on Poverty, Covid 19 Pandemic has a negative effect on poverty with a significance value with an alpha level of 5%.
