Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Overconfidence and the Code of Ethics to the Escalation of Commitment. The population in the study was a student of Sharia Accounting study program, as the sample used was purposive sampling. The approach used in this study is quantitative by using the 2x2 factorial experiment method. The data is processed with one way ANOVA and two way ANOVA test to compare the average interaction effect through the statistical test equipment of IBM SPSS version 25. The results show that individuals that Overconfidence will tend to do Escalation of Commitment . Furthermore, the existence of the Code of Ethic can prevent individuals to commit Escalation of Commitment . The last research results are an Overconfidence individual interaction but are bound by the Code of Ethics tend to not commit commitment.
