Abstract

This research was motivated by students' lack of interest in learning materials due to the limited use of varied and interesting learning media. This research aims to: (1) Find out the development of the bio quartet card learning media product on the main topic of viruses for class X students at SMA Muhamadiyah 3 Yogyakarta, (2) Find out the quality of the quartet card biology learning media on the main topic of viruses for class X students at SMA Muhamadiyah 3 Yogyakarta so that it is suitable for use in biology learning, (3) Find out the student’s responses to the quartet card biology learning media on the main topic of viruses for class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This research is a type of development research (Research and Development) using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), but is limited to without the Disseminate stage. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and questionnaires. The quality of the module was assessed by 1 material expert, 1 media expert, 5 peer reviewers, and 1 biology teacher. The limited trial was carried out by 15 class X students of SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The data obtained was then analyzed descriptively qualitatively quantitatively. Based on the overall assessment results, the quality of the Bio Quartet Card Virus learning media is included in the very good category with an ideal percentage of 93.8%, and student responses to the Bio Quartet Card Virus are included in the very good category with an ideal percentage of 86.65%. Thus, it can be concluded that the bio quartet card virus is suitable for use as a biology learning medium for class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta.
