Abstract

The background of this research starts from the presence of positive phenomena related to the performance of the extracurricular activities of the marching band in SD State Lempuyangan 1 which in each year achieved a champion in more than one championship. Generally speaking, an average expensive school has quality and good service facilities, and this cannot be rejected as the form of quality improvement efforts is highly optimized. However, SD State Lempuyangan 1 is a public school with a fairly affordable cost able to carve out achievements in the non-academic field through extracurricular activities of marching bands. This research was conducted to find out the Implementation of Extracurricular Management Marching Band in SD State Lempuyangan 1in improving non-academic performance. This research is qualitative research with a kind of case study. The informants on this study are: Head of School, Deputy Head of Curriculum School, Extracurricular Coordinator Teacher, Marching Band Coach and Student. Data collection with interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques with transcript, coding, grouping, comparing, contrasting, and interpretation. The results of the research showed: (1) The practice of extracurricular Marching Band Management in SD State Lempuyangan 1 was implemented in accordance with George R. Terry's theory of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation.; (2) Implementation of extracurricular management in performance improvement has several internal and external factors. Internal factors are: First, physical health is byining and preparing health during exercise Second, psychological is related to intelligence, talent, interest, and creativity. External factors are the physical environment of the school, the class social environment, and the family social environment. (3) Supporters and inhibitors of the implementation of the extracurricular Marching Band Management. Supports include: school support, good communication, student guardian support, student talents.
