Abstract

This research aims to: 1) knowing the form of religious tolerance attitudes carried out at Sukma Nias Unggulan State Senior High School; 2) knowing how the strategy used by Islamic religious education teachers in instilling religious tolerance attitudes at Sukma Nias Unggulan State Senior High School; 3) knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors of religious tolerance attitudes carried out at Sukma Nias Unggulan State Senior High School. The type of research used is field research with descriptive qualitative research methods. This research uses a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documents. The data analysis used is Milles and Hubberman's theory, namely by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. While the data validity technique used in this research is source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that, first, the form of tolerance carried out at Sukma Nias Unggulan SMAN consists of aspects of mutual respect and appreciation, aspects of equality, aspects of not disturbing other religious activities. Second, the strategies of Islamic religious education teachers include giving role models, interactive learning, and not interfering with the activities of other religions.
