Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between social support and resilience in new students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. This research involved 84 samples taken using convenience sampling techniques. The research instruments used for data collection are the social support scale and resilience scale which have been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used is non-parametric statistics through the Spearman rank correlation test with the help of IBM SPSS 20.0 for Windows. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between social support and resilience in new students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta with a correlation coefficient of 0.497 and p value (Sig.) = 0.000 < 0.01. Thus, the results of this research can be concluded that if the level of social support is high, the level of resilience in new students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is also high, and vice versa.
