Abstract

This national research is motivated by an interesting phenomenon in the Lazismu institution as a zakat institution at a level that other zakat institutions do not have, namely career prospects for its employees. Meanwhile, companies that do not have career paths for their employees have high employee turnover rates. Meanwhile, most successful companies offer career paths and provide a realistic picture of their employees' positions in the coming years. So the author is interested in researching career development strategies at Lazismu D.I. Yogyakarta. The problem formulation in this thesis is how career development strategies can improve employee performance at Lazismu D.I. Yogyakarta. In this research, the author used a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the analysis uses descriptive analysis, namely trying to describe a phenomenon or event systematically and as it is. The results of the research in this thesis are that career development at Lazismu D.I. Yogyakarta includes: first, effective recruitment, namely informing which employees are accepted into the structure, giving them an understanding of the structure, providing direction about Digital Marketing and the institution's program plans. Preference is given to those who have experience in the field of zakat. Second, Placement, includes promotions because of achievements achieved, or because of expertise in a special field, and promotions because they have long and extensive experience, and are competent in the field of leadership. Third, there is training and development of employee skills. Fourth, career planning.
